“Lights, Camera, Reaction”…

Last friday night my friend Johnathan texted me about helping with a short film, and I asked when, and his response was, “tonight”. So I headed over and a group of friends were entering the the Prairie Grass Film Challenge. So starting that night and then the following day we came up with, shot, and edited the short film “Maxumentary”. It was a lot of fun, albeit fairly exhausting.

Over the past few years I’ve had different experiences with shooting impromptu movies, and they have not all been that great. I’ve learned that if you ever have to coerce/convince someone to help out, it just ruins everything. This was one of the rare opportunities that there was a volunteer for covering every angle, so it was just an awesome time.

We literally came up with everything on the spot, the actors ad libbed the whole thing, and through some editing we tied it all together. All things considering I’m very happy with it.
